Bachelor of Natural Health Sciences
The UNM Bachelor of Natural Health Sciences is designed to educate
the student and provide them with diverse, in depth, comprehensive
knowledge and competent training in the field of integrative medicine,
botanical medicine, and holistic nutrition. This program is not a
dietetics or conventional nutrition approach in that it incorporates
advanced scientifically proven knowledge and approaches as to what an
individual’s true and essential requirements and needs may be as well as
the foremost research in the nutraceutical, botanical and integrative
medicine field today.
Diagnostic and assessment modalities will be taught in order to
provide each student the tools necessary to determine the true source,
or ‘etiology’, of an individual’s imbalance, deficiency or state of
dis-ease to enable the graduate of this program to design and implement
therapeutic protocols for the prevention and alleviation of these
conditions.
The BS program also offers additional therapeutic modalities as an
adjunct to the nutritional knowledge gained for a more holistic and
effective approach.
Bachelor of Natural Health Science with a concentration in Clinical
Nutrition, Botanical Medicine, Homeopathy, and Integrated Medicine may
also be designed individually for the student. Please contact the UNM
Administrative Office for more information regarding these
concentrations.
Incoming credit and advanced placement may apply for prior education,
trainings and life/work experience. Upon completion of this program a
graduate may matriculate into any of our post-graduate programs if one
chooses.
Master of Natural Health Sciences
The UNM Master of Natural Health Sciences is designed to educate the

The Health Professional program provides the qualified candidate an abbreviated program due to previous clinical experience.
The Health Professional program allows the qualified candidate the opportunity to complete an abbreviated program.
A student will receive their doctorate in Natural Health Sciences and may choose to major in many modalities or specialties.
Incoming credit can apply toward advanced placement toward the curriculum. In some instances with prior education and training as candidate may be only required to write and defend the dissertation.
Doctor of Natural Medicine
The Doctor of Natural Medicine or Doctor of Integrative Medicine or Traditional Naturopath are each equivalent to a PhD in credit hours. The DNM/IMD/TN each require clinical training or research in addition to the curriculum in place of a dissertation, as in the PhD. It can also be the initial curriculum for a Doctor of Naturopathy, if one chooses to proceed further in their graduate studies. It can provide the Doctor of Naturopathy candidate credentials to practice with this acquired knowledge and expertise while pursuing the more extensive training required in the ND program. Upon graduation the student can choose which title best serves them, as the requirements are the same for the DNM, IMD and the TN.Doctor of Natural Medicine for Health Professionals

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Natural Health Sciences
UNM’s PhD program offers the student and future practitioner or educator an opportunity to develop their own individualized program to meet their needs and objectives, with guidance from the Dean of Natural Health Sciences. After completion of the designed curriculum requirement, the dissertation will be written, then approved, then defended before our dissertation committee either in person or via video conferencing, in order to meet recognized standards and credible requirements.A student will receive their doctorate in Natural Health Sciences and may choose to major in many modalities or specialties.
